Raffle Wheel

A raffle wheel draws winning tickets at random, and this one builds its slices from your ticket numbers or ticket holders. Draw the places in order; each winning ticket leaves the draw.

Draw night

How to run a raffle draw online

Type your ticket numbers, put them on the wheel, set the number of winners and draw. The Tickets and Draw winners panels hold every control, and the wheel starts with tickets 1-50.

  1. Enter the tickets

Type ranges such as 1-500, 1001-1200 and list unsold or void tickets in Leave out. For people instead of numbers, choose Names with tickets.

  2. Put them on the wheel

Press Put on the wheel. The count beside the button shows how many tickets are in the draw before you start.

  3. Set places and prizes

Choose how many winners, whether 1st prize is drawn first or last, and type a prize for each place if you like.

  4. Draw and announce

Press Draw 1st place, or Draw all for every place in a row. Then copy the draw log or export it as CSV.

Habits that keep a raffle draw calm

  • Close sales first. Type the ranges only when the last book is in, so the count on screen matches the stubs.
  • Put the wheel where people can see it. Full screen on a projector, or share your screen on a call.
  • Read each number twice. Have a second person find the stub before anyone walks up.
  • Plan for no-shows. Once every place is drawn, press Draw an alternate for a backup winner, labeled Alternate 1, 2 and so on.

Ticket books

A raffle number generator built for ticket books

The ticket box turns ranges, single numbers and labeled rolls into one wheel of tickets. Separate items with commas; the order you type is the order on the wheel.

What you type and what goes on the wheel
You typeTicketsOn the wheel
1-5005001, 2, 3 … 500
1-500, 1001-12007001, 2, 3 … 1200from 2 books
001-250250001, 002, 003 … 250printed with zeros
Red 1-200, Blue 1-200400Red 1, Red 2, Red 3 … Blue 200from 2 colored rolls
A001-A100100A001, A002, A003 … A100with a letter label

001-250Leave out 37249001, 002, 003 … 250where 37 also removes 037

Leave out matches by label and number, so 37 also removes a ticket printed 037. For a plain number from a range, with nothing to remove after each pick, the random number wheel is quicker.

Your chances

Raffle odds: what extra tickets buy

Each ticket in the draw has the same chance: 1 divided by the tickets left. With 700 tickets in the draw, each has a 1 in 700 chance. Once the winner leaves, every ticket left has a 1 in 699 chance.

In a 500-ticket raffle with 3 prizes, 10 tickets give a 5.9% chance of winning something. Odds grow almost in step with tickets: 50 tickets give 27.1%, not 30%, because a second win adds nothing to winning at least once.

The raffle wheel fixes each winning ticket with crypto.getRandomValues before the spin starts, and the animation only shows it. How the randomness is tested covers the method.

Names with tickets

Draw from names and ticket counts

Choose Names with tickets to draw people instead of numbers, with each person's chance set by how many tickets they hold. Type one person per line, then a comma and their count, such as Ana Ruiz, 5.

Example: 3 people with 10 tickets in total
HolderTickets1st draw2nd draw if Ana wins, Once
Ana Ruiz55 ÷ 10 = 50%Out of the draw
Ben Okafor33 ÷ 10 = 30%3 ÷ 5 = 60%
Chloe Park22 ÷ 10 = 20%2 ÷ 5 = 40%
  • Each person can win: Once

A winner leaves with all their tickets. Ana wins the 1st draw, so Ben and Chloe split the next one 3 to 2.

    One prize each

  • Each person can win: Once per ticket

Only the winning ticket leaves. Ana keeps 4 of her 5 and has a 4 ÷ 9 = 44.4% chance in the 2nd draw.

    Repeat winners allowed

Import a list reads CSV, Excel (.xlsx) and text files, and a column headed tickets sets the counts. Repeated names add together, a line with no number counts as 1, and one person can hold up to 1,000 tickets.

Places

Prize order, places and alternates

The wheel labels every draw with its place, counting up from 1st or down to 1st. Many hosts save the top prize for last; choose 1st prize last for that order.

Draw order settings with 3 winners
Setting3 winners are drawn as
1st prize first1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place
1st prize last3rd place, 2nd place, 1st place
Draws after the last placeAlternate 1, Alternate 2 and so on

Type one prize per line under Prizes for each place, 1st place first, and the popup shows the prize beside the winning ticket. Alternates are backup winners for a prize nobody claims.

Draw all draws every place left, one spin after another, with 1-second spins unless you untick Quick spins. Start over puts every ticket back and restarts at the first place.

Record

The raffle draw log

Every draw goes into a log with its number, time, place, prize, winning ticket and the odds at that moment. It keeps up to 1,000 draws in this browser and survives a reload.

Copy gives one line per draw, ready for a post or an email. The sample shows a 3-prize raffle drawn with 1st prize last.

Export CSV saves a spreadsheet with these columns: draw, time in UTC, place, prize, winning ticket or holder, tickets held, tickets in the draw and chance.

Draw 1, 7:02:10 PM: 3rd place (Movie tickets): ticket 137 (1 of 500 tickets)

Draw 2, 7:03:05 PM: 2nd place (Gift card): ticket 402 (1 of 499 tickets)

Draw 3, 7:03:51 PM: 1st place (Gift basket): ticket 58 (1 of 498 tickets)

Sample Copy output from the draw log, with made-up winning tickets.

Before you sell

Raffle rules and what the wheel leaves to you

The raffle wheel only draws from the tickets you enter. Selling tickets, taking payments and reaching winners happen outside it.

Draw-day checklist

  • Sell and number the tickets elsewhere. This tool doesn't sell tickets or run a lottery, so type the numbers in once sales close.
  • Match numbers to stubs. The wheel can't tell who holds a number, so check the stub before you announce a winner.
  • Stay under 10,000 tickets per wheel. Leave out unsold books, or split a very large draw.
  • Export the log. It stays in this browser, and clearing site data removes it, so save the CSV after the draw.

Raffles can be regulated

The IRS lists raffles as a form of gaming in its guide Tax-Exempt Organizations and Gaming (Publication 3079). It notes that many states and localities regulate gaming by exempt organizations, and it explains when large prizes must be reported. Check the rules where you live before you sell tickets.

FAQ

Raffle wheel FAQ

Is this raffle wheel free?

Yes. Every part of it is free to use, and there is no sign-up.

Can the same ticket win twice?

No. Each winning ticket leaves the draw when you close the result. Put it back, in the message that follows, returns it if a draw has to be redone.

How many tickets can the raffle wheel hold?

Up to 10,000 tickets on one wheel. Once a wheel passes 150 slices, hover over any slice to see its number.

Can tickets have letters, such as A001 or Red 7?

Yes. Type A001-A100 or Red 1-200. The label and any leading zeros stay on every ticket.

How do I give one person several tickets?

Choose Names with tickets and type the count after a comma, such as Ana Ruiz, 5. Her chance is 5 divided by all the tickets in the draw.

Can I draw the grand prize last?

Yes. Choose 1st prize last. With 3 winners, the draws go 3rd place, 2nd place, then 1st place.

Is this an online raffle generator for selling tickets?

No. It draws winners from tickets you have already sold or handed out. Payments and ticket sales need a separate service.

Where is the draw log saved?

Only in the browser you drew in. Copy it or export the CSV to keep a record.
