Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 22, 2026. This policy covers wheelspinning.net, run by Melissa T. Brown.

Thank you for visiting Wheel Spinning. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use wheelspinning.net, how it is used, who it is shared with and the choices you have. By using the site, you agree to the practices it describes.

The short version

The names and options you put on a wheel stay in your browser and are never sent to this site. There are no accounts, sign-up forms or newsletters. The site uses the third-party services named on this page to measure visits and show ads.

Information we collect

1. Information you give us

The only personal information the site receives from you is what you choose to send by email. That means your email address, your name if you include it, and the contents of your message. There are no comment boxes or forms that collect personal details.

2. What stays on your device

Your wheels are stored only in your own browser storage (localStorage and IndexedDB). That storage holds:

  • the current wheel and its settings (autosave);
  • your result history and tallies;
  • wheels you save by name;
  • images and sound files you add;
  • your light or dark mode choice.

This data never leaves your device unless you share it. Clearing this site's data in your browser settings deletes it.

3. Usage and device information

The site is hosted on Cloudflare. To deliver and protect the site, Cloudflare processes request data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the page requested and the website that linked to it. Cloudflare's own privacy policy describes how it handles that data.

Google Analytics also records which pages are visited and for how long, as described under third-party services.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Wheel Spinning itself sets no cookies. The third-party services in the next section may set their own cookies, as described there. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the wheels keep working without them.

How we use information

  • To reply to your emails and follow up on bug reports, corrections and requests.
  • To keep the site running, fast and protected from abuse.
  • To see which pages and wheels are used, so the most useful ones get improved first.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

How information is shared

With service providers

Cloudflare hosts the site, and an email provider delivers messages sent to [email protected]. Google provides the services named under third-party services. These providers handle data only to run their service for the site.

For legal reasons

Information may be disclosed if the law, a court order or the need to protect the site and its users requires it.

If the site changes hands

If Wheel Spinning is ever sold or transferred, the emails it holds may move with it, under this policy.

Share links and backup files

A share link contains the wheel itself, in the part of the address after the # sign. Browsers do not send that part to the website's server, so the site does not receive it. Anyone who has the link can see the wheel, and apps you paste it into may keep a copy. Backup files are saved to your device and are only shared if you send them.

Third-party services

The site loads Google Analytics.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics counts visits and shows which pages are used. It receives the page address without the # part, so wheel contents in share links are never sent. It also receives your browser type, device type and approximate location from your IP address, and it uses cookies. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Advertising

Wheel Spinning doesn't show ads at the moment. If ads are added, they will be served by Google AdSense outside the wheel area, and this policy will be updated to describe the cookies they use before they appear.

Embedded wheels

A wheel embedded on another website saves nothing in your browser. The website that embeds it has its own privacy policy, which covers the rest of that page.

Data security and retention

The whole site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Emails are kept only as long as they're needed to answer you, handle follow-up or meet a legal obligation. Only the person who runs the site can read them.

Your choices and rights

  • Delete everything the wheels store on your device by clearing this site's data in your browser.
  • Ask for a copy of any email you sent, or ask for it to be corrected or deleted.

Depending on where you live, you may have extra rights over your personal information. Laws such as the GDPR (European Union and United Kingdom) and the CCPA (California) let you access, correct or delete it. They also let you object to some uses of it. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. Requests are free.

Children's privacy

Wheel Spinning is a general-audience site that doesn't ask anyone for personal information. It is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from them. Names typed into a wheel, including students' names, stay on the device where they were typed. If you believe a child has emailed us personal information, let us know and it will be deleted.

Links to other websites

Some pages link to other websites, such as the study cited on the yes or no wheel. Those sites have their own privacy practices, so please read their policies before sharing anything with them.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page and the effective date at the top changes with it.
